HOW ENDERMOLOGIE WORKS

The term 'Endermologie' is from the French language, meaning 'through the dermis'. This scientifically proven treatment penetrates the skin to mobilise underlying fat cells, which results in a positive change internally as well as externally.

LPG Endermologie was developed in the 1980's by a French engineer, Louis-Paul Guitay. Guitay had suffered extensive tissue damage from a car accident and was undergoing four hours of rolling manual massage per day - carried out by four different therapists in an attempt to loosen and elasticise his scars. It was from these treatments that Endermologie was born.

Endermologie is a scientific approach utilising the principle of negative pressure massage. The head of the Endermologie unit is equipped with two motorised rollers that roll and unroll a tissue fold, kneading and massaging the tissues. Between the rollers is a suction chamber, which applies a variable aspiration to this tissue fold, increasing the blood supply to the area. By manipulating the machines head in various maneuvers, the skin and the subcutaneous fat cell layer are activated, causing the blood circulation to be restored to these treated areas.

The improved lymphatic drainage now effectively eliminates metabolic toxins from the tissues. The increase in oxygen and nutrients triggers the body’s normal process for fat elimination and the fat cells begin to shrink in size. The connective tissue walls are gently stretched, which encourages the fibrous tissue cells to produce better quality collagen and elastin, thus toning and firming the body.

ROLL TECHNOLOGY

The machines roller head is used to trigger a physiological response, deep within the skin, providing a vigorous, yet gentle massage by rolling and kneading the subcutaneous fat cells and targeted skin areas.

The roll head itself is unique, containing two independent rollers, which both are fitted with an integrated micro-motor. The design allows the rollers to move at independent speeds while turning in the same or in opposite directions. The independent roller design also allows the therapist to manipulate a wider variety of skin folds in terms of depth, shape and thickness.

Body Suit

During the treatment, patients will wear a specialised body suit to allow the machines head to glide effortlessly over the body and to ensure optimal hygiene.
